The Hungarian State Opera House is one of the most significant national monuments in Budapest, which was opened to the public in 1884. This neo-Renaissance opera house located in central Pest, on Andrássy út. Designed by Miklós Ybl, a major figure of 19th century Hungarian architecture, the construction lasted from 1875 to 1884 and was funded by the city of Budapest and by Emperor Franz Joseph of Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. The Hungarian Royal Opera House (as it was known then) opened to the public on the September 27, 1884.
The Fisherman's Bastion Restaurant is open year-round with a variety of services. The main entrance to the restaurant is located at the right-hand side of the structure, behind the Matthias Church. Patrons enter the restaurant by passing through a beautiful wrought-iron gate. Our establishment, offering services year-round, offers comfortable seating for 120 guests (depending on table arrangements). To the right of the entrance, in the central section of the building, the Knight Hall features a round, expandable table to seat parties of 10-25 guests. Tables for two, located on the second floor, are perfect for romantic dinners. On the ground floor, tables are available for parties of 4-6 and offer a private setting. All of our tables offer a view of the acclaimed Budapest panorama.
