Three-hours private sightseeing tour with a local guide who is eager to show you both the city's grand sights and its simple pleasures, such as sharing a bowl of goulash with friends. Among the sites included in this tour: Gellért-hill, Heroes' Square, St. Stephen's Basilica, Parliament, Margaret-Bridge (Margaret-Island), Opera, walking in the Castle district, visit of the Fishermen's Bastion, Matthias Church and the Royal Castle on the Buda side.

Gellért Hill offers some of the best panoramic views of the city. The hill was named after bishop Gellért (Gerald), who was thrown to death from the hill by pagans in the fight against Christianity in 1046. His statue, which faces Elizabeth Bridge (Erzsébet híd) and holds a cross, can be seen from many parts of Pest.

Heroes’ square, one of the most characteristic squares of Budapest, is situated on the end of the Andrássy street and can be seen from a very wide distance because of its Millennium memorial rising in the middle. You can also find on the sides of the square the Hall of Art and the Fine Arts Museum, which have hosted exhibitions of painters like Picasso, Van Gogh and Monet. The statues in the middle of the square are statues of the most important heroes of Hungarian history, which the square was named for.

St. Stephen’s Basilica is the largest church in Budapest and can hold up to 8,500 people.

The Parliament, constructed in its present form in 1904, is located in Kossuth Lajos square. It was designed by Imre Steindl in gothic revival style and is an integral element of the Budapest panorama. The construction took 40 million bricks and incorporated 40 kg of gold for ornamentation. You can also find on Kossuth Lajos square, a memorial to the Hungarian revolution of 1956, a memorial to Lajos Kossuth himself, and a statue of Ferenc Rákóczi on horseback.

The Margaret Island is the biggest public park in Budapest and is the perfect place for relaxing, doing sports or just having fun by renting a bicycle or a pedal car. You can find sport courts, bars, popular clubs, restaurants and the biggest fountain of Budapest, which is shooting its water streams to the rhythm of classical music, on the island.

The Opera House is not only one of the most significant art relics of Budapest, but the symbol of the Hungarian operatic tradition of more than two hundred years as well. The long-awaited moment in Hungarian opera life arrived on September 27, 1884, when, in the presence of Franz Joseph I. the Opera House was opened amid great ceremony.

The Buda Castle is the 1st district in Budapest and is located on the Buda side of Budapest on the castle hill. The National Art Gallery, Fisherman’s Bastion, Trinity square and Matthias church can be found in this beautiful historical district. Walking in the streets of the castle district is an authentic experience to the history of Hungary and a must for all visitors.

The Fishermen’s Bastion is one of the most popular spots of the Castle District with visitors, as it offers a grand panorama of almost the entire city. It is situated on the eastern side of Castle Hill and can be reached from the centre of the district, Szentháromság tér (Trinity Square).

Matthias Church is a church located in Budapest, Hungary, in front of the Fisherman's Bastion at the heart of Buda's Castle District. According to church tradition, it was originally built in Romanesque style in 1015. The current building was constructed in the florid late Gothic style in the second half of the 14th century and was extensively restored in the late 19th century. It was the second largest church of medieval Buda and the seventh largest church of medieval Hungarian Kingdom.
