Breakfast at the hotel
Departure by motor coach for a full day visit to explore one of the world’s largest public areas Tiananmen Square, the National Museum of China, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the Great Monument to the People’s Heroes

Proceed through the Gate to the Magnificent Forbidden City, a 180 acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions and gardens, which served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years.
During the visits, lunch will be served at a local restaurant; then continue to the stunning Temple of Heaven visited by the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to heaven for good harvest. Later, indulge in a relaxing foot massage, a local specialty, at the Foot Reflexology Centre.

Day 04 Beijing, China

Breakfast at the hotel
Departure by motor coach to the Chinese countryside from your perch on top of the Great Wall, which is actually a collection of fortifications built and rebuilt from the 5th century B.C to the 16th century to defend against nomadic invaders like of Mongols.
Walk the Sacred Way home to the remnants of the Ming Tombs, the once-lavish burial chambers of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.

Day 05 Beijing – XI’AN, China

Breakfast at the hotel
Start your day by greeting the famed Chinese Giant Pandas at Beijing Zoo, before embarking on a unique tour by rickshaw around the ancient alleyways of the courtyard Hutong Residences.
Back to the hotel and the remaining of the day at leisure

Day 06 XI’AN, China

Breakfast at the hotel
Departure for a full day visit to the Ancient City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China
Continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the city’s most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xi’an today.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant to enjoy a local specialty meal including a noodles’ making demonstration.
In the afternoon, visit of the Legendary Army of Terracotta Warriors; a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China; a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 07 XI’AN – Shanghai, China

Breakfast at the hotel
Departure by motor coach to visit Xi’an Muslim Quarter, the streets are full of life with men riding bicycles as their daily transportation, women chatting with their friends while selling food on the street and watching over children playing happily around their stalls.
Admire the Great Mosque, one of the oldest and grandest Muslim Buildings to be found in China. See the Wooden Bell Tower built in 1384 by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a way to dominate the surrounding countryside and provide early warning of attack by rival rulers.

Day 08 Shanghai, China

Breakfast at the hotel Departure by motor coach for a half day visit to Shanghai’s Famous “Bund“, the city’s renowned waterfront, lined with former colonial buildings and modern sky-scrapers.
Learn how marshland was turned into one of the most important trading hubs in the modern world.

Visit the Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1928 after the original temple was destroyed during the revolution that overthrew The Qing Dynasty.
It houses two precious jade Buddha Statues made out of sparkling crystal-clear white jade.
Proceed to Old Shanghai, a little known treasure trove of winding streets and vibrant markets. Despite the rapid pace of development in the rest of the city, the established customs and lifestyle of this area have remained relatively unaltered. Back to the hotel and enjoy free time to explore the vibrant city on your own Lunch and dinner on your own that day

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Shanghai International Airport for departure flight to final destination.

  • Other tours & meals than mentioned in the program
  • Porterage at the airports and at hotels (in and out)
  • Visa fee for China (if guests enter China twice, then a double-entry visa is required)
  • Excess luggage surcharge
  • Any personal expenses

Cancellation policy

  • Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival: 20% of total amount
  • Between 20 and 7 days prior to arrival: 50% of total amount
  • Less than 7 days: 100% of total amount

  • Itinerary is subject to change depending on the confirmed flights, road conditions, and rooms availability. We reserve the right to replace above hotels by other hotels of similar or superior category.
  • Peak season supplements may apply during trade fair, public holiday or special events.
  • Prices are subject to change in case of VAT or other tax increases.

Elegant Gates and its Destination Management (Beijing) Ltd will provide alternative itineraries where necessary and reduce cancellation fees to a minimum; however, such imposed closures are beyond our control and constitute a case of force majeure.
